A long distance ride for the climate !
With a main start point from Baku the site of the previous COP, the ride will feature multiple starting points across continents, including Europe, Central Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Participants will carry, as an olympic flame, a symbolic banner and navigate diverse terrains, from urban centers to remote regions, and sail across open waters to reach their destinations. Given the unique distance and number of cyclists, this ride is attempting no less than three Guinness records !

A citizen’s project
Along the way, cyclists will :
-engage with local cycling communities
-demand 3 commitments from the officials of the towns/regions/nations they cross (on cycling policies, at the 2030 horizon, which is the end date of the next round of COP climate plans)
Together, these interactions will create a global mosaic of citizen’s action, linking local concerns to international climate goals.
Our destination : Belém
Belém, a gateway to the Amazon Rainforest, holds special significance as the host city for COP30. The Amazon, often referred to as the “lungs of the Earth,” plays a critical role in regulating the planet’s climate. However, it is under immense threat from deforestation and exploitation. By cycling to Belém, participants will shine a spotlight on the urgent need to protect this vital ecosystem and advocate for just and sustainable solutions that prioritize indigenous rights, biodiversity preservation, and a rapid transition away from fossil fuels.
The ride will start mid-May from Azerbaijan then it will be in June in Turkey, July in the Balkans, July in Poland/Germany, early August in the Netherlands/Belgium, late July, early August in Italy, August/Beg Sept in France, September in Spain/Portugal. In October we will be on boat(s) as part of the Flotilla4change initiative!
